Toyota Introduce 2006 Highlander Hybrid

Over the week of Nov. 15-19 Toyota entertained representatives of major US publications at Carmel Valley Ranch, a golfing resort near Carmel-Monterey California, for a long lead briefing about the Toyota Highlander Synergy Drive SUV.

About 95 Journalists from major Newspapers and magazines all over the USA were presented with technical and styling information, availability and an opportunity to drive the much anticipated Toyota 2006 Highlander Hybrid SUV.

Toyota will introduce the 2006 Highlander Hybrid, (midsize SUV) in June 2005. It will be industry's first 7 passenger SUV and feature an enhanced 3.3-liter V6 engine and a powerful electric motor-generator to achieve 270 hp and a 0-60 acceleration below 8 secs.

This hybrid SUV will achieve a fuel efficiency better than 27.6 mpg, which is the current EPA mileage of a current compact sedan.
