IF YOU CARE ABOUT CARS AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Car buyers have always known that more miles per gallon saves money, but
would they choose more carefully if they knew that higher mpg cars can also
help prevent climate change?  The U.S. Department of Energy and
Environmental Protection Agency have joined together to create a new web
site that not only provides gas mileage numbers for every model year 2000
car and light truck, but greenhouse gas emissions estimates, as well.

An extensive and carefully organized links feature makes the site an
Internet gateway for new car buyers.  Sites for car enthusiasts, buying
services, safety rankings, manufactures promotions, new technology,
environmental issues and more, are all a click away.

This year's site features an array of advanced technology vehicles, from
Honda's 65 mpg Insight, to electric, natural gas and diesel powered
alternatives to conventional gasoline vehicles.

Packed with features like side-by-side comparisons, links to nearly every
kind of automotive information site and descriptions of advanced
technologies (including an animated explanation of how a fuel cell works),
the new site aims to help consumers factor energy efficiency into their
car-buying decisions.

If you're looking for a car or light truck,
